Dear Mary,
Your poems have been central to my reading and re-reading life. I turn to your words to be woken-up, to be moved, to be spurred to pay attention to this world.
In recent years your poems have become part of my prayer life. I often read your "Morning Poem" alongside the Hebrew morning blessings of my liturgy. Your words and the words of the sages and psalmists enter into conversation in my head and in my heart.
I wish you healing of body and spirit -- knowing that healing takes many forms, and isn't necessarily the same as a "cure." Your words have brought me great joy -- and have inspired me more times than I can say.
Thank you.
